Background
Alice Llewellyn is a classically trained painter; she spent three years at an atelier in Florence, Italy, learning the traditional method of sight size which she continues to use. Balancing a successful career in portraiture whilst working on other painting and sculpture projects, Alice completed an MA at City and Guilds London Art School in 2009.
Renewing Alice’s commitment to the methods in which she has been trained, the MA further inspired her to explore the potential of paint. Using old techniques, Alice asks new questions of paint’s transformative possibilities. Her strength and control when handling her materials allows her to shift visual interpretations of a given space.
